What agreement statuses mean

Pending, Partially paid, Settled, Overdue and Cancelled, explained.

Updated Oct 2, 2026 · 1 min read

Every agreement shows a status that updates on its own.

  • Pending: nothing has been paid yet.
  • Partially paid: some payments are recorded and a balance remains.
  • Settled (paid): the total due has been paid. It stays in your list as a record.
  • Overdue: the due date has passed and it isn’t paid. On a shared agreement it becomes overdue once the due day has ended where the person who pays lives.
  • Cancelled: the agreement no longer counts. It shows no balance and you can’t record new payments on it.

Signature status

Separately, the Signatures card shows who has signed: Not signed, Signed or Signed by both.
