An agreement (an IOU) records money one person owes another.
Create one
- Go to Agreements → New agreement (on Android, tap the + button).
- Choose the direction: They owe me or I owe them.
- Choose a contact, or tap New to add one.
- Enter the Amount and choose the Currency.
- Add a Description (for example “Rent for October”) and a Category.
- Optional: a Due date, an Interest rate and Notes / terms.
- Tap Create agreement.
The form shows the Total due as you type, including any interest.
Shared or private?
If the contact is linked to their IOUEZ account, the agreement is shared: they see it in their app and can sign it. Otherwise it is private and only you see it. See Shared and private agreements.
After creating it
- Sign it, and ask the other person to sign. See Sign an agreement.
- Split it into smaller payments. See Set up an installment plan.
- Record payments as they happen. See Record a payment.
